"From Spain
to Speyside"

In 1898 our founders secured their first precious shipment of sherry casks from the finest bodegas in Spain. Now more than 100 years later, Tamdhu matures its whisky exclusively in the finest Oloroso sherry casks. Nothing less.

It’s one of the hardest and most expensive ways to mature whisky, not to mention the fact that it limits the amount of precious spirit we can produce. So why do we do it that way? We do it this way because we believe it’s the only way to create the absolute best single malt whisky.

Tamdhu started out as a revolutionary distillery in the time of early railroad construction, electricity and industrialisation in Scotland. Tamdhu’s founders were obsessed with the idea of perfection and constructed the most advanced distillery of its time. They did so with the help of local natural resources – now, after so many years, their heritage is here for us to enjoy.
